Multiplying Believers
AfricaDiscipling with Boldness
What if you were the first person to tell someone about Jesus?
For most people, it’s difficult to imagine. But for global worker Jeffrey Woods, it’s become a way of life.
For more than 20 years, Jeffrey has served among Muslim communities in East Africa, bringing the hope of the gospel to people who have never heard the truth of Jesus. God revealed Jeffrey’s call one step at a time. First, he developed a heart for Africa. Then, God called him directly into missions.
When Jeffrey joined a church-planting team serving among Muslims, everything changed. As he shared the gospel with people who were hearing it for the very first time, God gave him a lifelong passion for reaching the unreached.
After more than a decade of ministry in a small Muslim nation on Africa’s east coast, Jeffrey saw how one transformed life could ignite a movement.
One of the first men Jeffrey’s team led to Christ had followed Jesus for only six months when he said proclaimed, “If we had 200 people on this island following Jesus, nothing could stop us.”
He continued, “Then we would start sending missionaries to the unreached.”
Although he had only recently come to faith and lived where no established church existed, he already looked beyond his own community to reach others who had never heard the gospel.
Today, Jeffrey is inspired to see local believers not only place their faith in Christ, but also become faithful witnesses and senders to those who have never heard.
Through every conversation, every partnership, and every new believer, he watches God raise up sons and daughters who will share the good news until the whole world has heard.
WAYS TO PRAY:
- Pray for protection and Spirit-led conversations as more global workers serve among Muslim communities and other unreached people groups in Africa.
- Ask God to open the hearts of those who have not yet heard the gospel, drawing them to become disciples who go out and lead others to Him.
- Pray for partnerships between local African churches and global workers to advance the gospel to those without access.
