Chad & Terri Nelson

We are the Nelsons, Chad, Terri, Emma and Eliana. We are the country coordinators for ChildHope Dominican Republic! We work with 16, soon to be 17, schools throughout the Dominican Republic. What do we do? Well, ChildHope is based on the idea that hope changes everything and we build that hope on a foundation of compassion, education, and transformation. Why is that?

1. COMPASSION covers basic, felt needs. A kid can't focus on school if he's hungry, if she doesn't have the clothes to even attend. So let's start there!

2. Then comes EDUCATION. The number one way to lift someone out of poverty is through education. We want to work to give a quality education so that each child that passes through a ChildHope partnered school will have the chance at a better future.

3. But many people in the world have food and education. The main focus in ChildHope is TRANSFORMATION. That transformation that comes through a relationship with Jesus. The sponsors that help send the kids to school help us greatly by opening the door to a kid's heart through thier prayers and giving. 

This is our main focus in the Dominican Republic with our wonderful staff of Dominicans!

However, we have exciting news that we have been invited by the DR AG National Missions Department to partner with them to help SEND Dominicans who have said yes to God's call to take their place in the harvest fields wherever He has called them. We have the awesome privilege of working closely with some young people who are simply waiting for their time to answer the call to the nations.
