Shelley Carl

I have been in fulltime ministry for 40 years, and  am "Serving the Risen Son in the Land of the Rising Sun" as a missionary with the Assemblies of God World Missions.  My ministry has included church planting, pastoring an International Church, serving on the boards of Teen Challenge, Central Bible College Japan, the AG Missionary Fellowship and the Co-Managing Editor for the Japan FIREBIBLE which was released in Sept. 2016. I am currently partnering with a Japanese pastor to pioneer Garden Hills Church which was launched on April 8, 2018, and am serving as the Secretary for the missionary fellowship. In addition to those ministries I recently began a PhD program in Intercultural Studies to research Japanese Christian Identity.

My primary focus in 2020 was to serve as the Japan Coordinator for Reach Out 2020, an evangelistic thrust with Lay Witnesses for Christ International during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics have now been postponed until 2021 and I am praying for unprecedented outreach opportunities. As the eyes of the world are on the largest metropolis in the history of the world, Shelley says God spoke to her that these games "are for Kingdom purposes." 

I appreciate your prayers for the Never Reached nation of Japan. Japan has less than 1% Christian and  the city of Tokyo where I ministers is the largest metropolis in the history of the world with the largest concentration of Never Reached people in one location anywhere in the world.
