John and his first wife, Dawn, served as missionaries to Zimbabwe and Zambia from 1988 to 2018, when Dawn went home to be with her Lord. John moved back to the States and began working with Africa's Hope in 2019. John met Thelma Billings in 2020 and they were married in 2021. Thelma had served as an AGWM missionary to Latin America with her first husband, Jim, for many years. John changed to R9 status in 2022 and continues to work with Africa's Hope.
