THE PEOPLE OF MEXICO AND LATIN AMERICA ARE LARGELY UNENGAGED BY AN ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF JESUS.
Throughout the region, idolatry, pagan rituals, and animism are entangled with traditional national religions. Worshipers cry out in desperation, begging to be seen, to be heard, fearing that they’ve been forgotten. Meanwhile, the next generation, having never encountered the living, resurrected Jesus is turning away from empty, oppressive religion and opting for secularism and pagan spirituality.
OUR LIVES BECOME AN INVITATION TO ENCOUNTER THE RESURRECTED JESUS.
We are David and Kelly Godzwa. In 2006, we and our children, Rebekah, Joseph, and Jonathan began our missionary career in Mérida, México. Serving in Mexico’s southeast, we recognized these desperate souls and worked to facilitate their personal encounter with the resurrected Christ, catalyzing the mobilization of local churches, the training of new ministers, and the planting of new churches. Now as Mexico Area Directors, we have the privilege of not only collaborating with the national leadership of the Assemblies of God in Mexico but also coordinating the ministry of the 24 missionary units who are proclaiming the truth of new life in Christ nationwide.
