Current Ministry

Martin & Charlotte Jacobson are Assemblies of God missionaries to Argentina, directing the Patagonian Bible Institute in the southernmost area of the country known as the Patagonia.  Located nearly 1,000 miles south of Buenos Aires in Gaiman, Chubut Argentina, and now with an enrollment of over seventy, the Institute is drawing students from twenty cities in the region.  The Jacobsons are working together with a team of Argentine pastors in the leadership of this Institute.

To date, there are 241 graduates:

  • 73 of those graduates are pastoring (33 of them are pioneering new church plants)
  • 7 are missionaries (serving in Brazil, Peru, Spain, and Chad)
  • 2 are national leaders
  • 4 are Patagonian Bible Institute staff members
  • 108 are ministry leaders in their churches

Previous Ministry

Previous to their ministry in Argentina, the Jacobsons served as youth and associate pastors at First Assembly of God in Lexington, Kentucky (’75-’85).  They were appointed as missionaries in 1985 have now served over 30 years in Argentina – during their first term and a half, they taught and led construction teams at the Rio de la Plata Bible Institute in Buenos Aires, and the last 22 years as dean of students (’94-’97) and then director (’97 to present) of the Patagonian Bible Institute.  The Jacobsons have led forty U.S. and eleven Argentine construction teams at the Bible Institute site.
