Steve & Trina Pennington

Steve and Trina have served in East Africa for approximately 24 years. They began their service in Kenya among an unreached people group focused in evanglism and discipleship. In 1997, they shifted from Kenya to Ethiopia where they served in various capacities for 10 years, including: Moderator, teaching, preaching, Academic Dean and Acting Principal of Addis Ababa Bible College, Sunday School developer, Missionettes, among other things. In 2007 Steve was asked to serve at the East Africa School of Theology as Academic Dean and to assist with EAST's government charter. During part of this time, Trina served as the Moderator of Team Kenya (AGWM). They served the new ministry, Live Dead, as the Team Leader Overseers of Live Dead East Africa. Live Dead is an initiative to plant churches among unreached people groups through teams (www.live-dead.org).

Steve and Trina served as Area Director for East Africa & the Indian Ocean Basin for 6 years. They had the joy of serving seventeen countries in EAIOB. AGWM teams minister in fourteen of those countries, and there are thriving AG churches in at least eleven. Six of these countries still wait for powerful AG churches. Steve & Trina dreamed of a thriving AG national church in every country in EAIOB, and powerful local AG congregations within walking distance of every believer.

The entire Africa team along with the AG churches in Africa have a vision: A powerful AG church within walking distance o everyone in Africa. In order to see that vision fulfilled, Steve serves as the Vice Chancellor of the Pan Africa Theological Seminary in Lomé  Togo. And, Trina has the wonderful opportunity to serve alongside her friend, Faraja Hamuli, serving all of the women of the AG on the African continent. 

Steve and Trina are blessed with three children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and a wonderful grandson, all of whom they deeply cherish: Josiah and Elizabeth Pennington, Priscilla and Reed Burr (and Malakai), and Micah.
