About

Dr. Judy Bartel de Graner has a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, a B.A. in Social Sciences from Vanguard University, and a B.A. in Christian Education from Southeastern University. She is the daughter of missionary parents, Harry and Martha Bartel, and grew up in Colombia, South America. She has served as a missionary since 1976, beginning her ministry in the Assemblies of God Central Bible School in Bogotá, Colombia.

In 1982 Judy founded and directed the Bible School in Barranquilla, Colombia, and in 1986 she and her late husband, Steve Graner, built the present building and continued as directors until 1993. They also participated in training and sending national missionaries to Unreached People Groups. Judy and Steve taught in various Bible schools in Colombia and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean for the Latin American Advanced School of Theology (ISUM). She continues in leadership training for Latin American ministers and educators, as well as writing and editing Bible school and graduate level materials. For 20 years Dr. Graner served on the editorial team of CONOZCA Magazine and as Editor of Educational Materials for SEC—an organization that guides 900 Bible schools in the Spanish-speaking nations of Latin America and the Caribbean.
