Duane and Cari Henders began their ministry with Teen Challenge in Philadelphia, PA in 1969 where Duane directed the men's rehab center for 9 years and Cari oversaw a ghetto Sunday School that grew to a weekly attendance of 3,000 children. The Henders ministered in Portugal for 16 years where they helped start a Teen Challenge ministry that now has about 150 youth in the 6 resident programs, and a network of 25 coffeehouses throughout the nation. Duane and Cari also served at the Assemblies of God Mount Hope Bible Institute as teachers, Deans of Students, and Director. Since 1999 the Henders have been working as foreign missionaries with Global Teen Challenge, helping start Teen Challenge ministries in Trinidad, Romania, Aruba and Honduras, and are now working to start TC ministry in Guyana, Belize, Bolivia, Grenada and Haiti. They have also been involved in training TC staff for many countries in Africa, Europe, Central America and the Far East.
