Gary and Wilma Davidson have been serving in the nation of Ireland since 1980. In 1985 they founded St. Mark’s Church in the heart of Dublin, transforming an unused Protestant church building that is 270 years old into a vibrant center of ministry and evangelism. This growing congregation now number 800 attendees, making it one of the largest churches in the nation. St Mark’s recently sent out it’s seventh church plant as it continues to reach out into this great capital city. An indigenous Teen Challenge ministry has been established with a Men’s Center with 32 men in residence and a Women’s Home housing 12 women. This ministry is nationally recognized for it’s effectiveness in seeing individuals set free from a life of addiction and becoming capable members of their local communities.
In 2004, Gary handed on the leadership of St Mark’s Church to a local Irish pastor, Sean Mullarkey and assumed the role of National Leader (General Superintendent of the AGI (Assemblies of God Ireland). Over the next eight years AGI continued to grow numerically and in influence throughout the nation. In January 2012, Gary handed on the role of National Leader to Irish Pastor PJ Booth. PJ had been sent out from St Mark’s in 2001 to plant Open Arms Church in Newbridge, Ireland. This congregation had grown to a congregation of 500 and planted a daughter church of 150 people. Since 2015, Pastor Sean Mullarkey has served as National Leader.
AGI is passionate about raising up leaders, strengthening existing congregations and planting new churches. Our training program is called SALT (School of Advanced Leadership Training). Gary teaches and mentors through SALT which offers an effective pathway for leadership development in partnership with the local church. The Davidson's also assist the Irish church through the facilitating of construction and evangelism teams for our partner churches in the USA. On most Sunday’s, Gary and Wilma will be found ministering and encouraging in a local church somewhere in Ireland.
Your generous donations help vital Assemblies of God ministries and missionaries share the love of Jesus in cities and hometowns across the country, and throughout the world.
